– Main character is Indian.

2. Cinder by Marissa Meyer

– Main characters of the series are of different races.

3. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

– Features a character who is Asian and an overweight character.

4. Sanctum by Sarah Fine

– Main character is Latina (Assumed to be Cuban).


5. To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

– Deals with issues of race and racism.

6. None of the Above – I.W. Gregorio

– Main character is diagnosed as Intersex.

7. The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley – Shaun David Hutchinson

– Main character is gay.

8. Tiny Pretty Things – Sona Charaipotra & Dhonielle Clayton

– One of the main characters is black and another is half Korean.


9. Keeper of the Night by Kimberly Willis Holt

– Main character is Chamorro. (The native race of people from Guam)

10. Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover

-Main male character is deaf.
