Two years after her best friend was involved in a car accident that caused a traumatic brain injury, Lottie Anders is ready to start her freshman year of college. Ready to move on. Ready to start forgetting the night that ripped her life apart.

Her plans come to a screeching halt when not one, but both brothers responsible for the accident end up back in her life again.

Zack is cruel, selfish and constantly rubbing what happened to her friend in Lottie’s face.

Zan is different. He listens to her awkward ramblings. He loves To Kill a Mockingbird as much as she does, and his dark eyes are irresistible. His words are few and far between, but when he does speak, she can’t help but listen.

The trouble is, Zan was the driver in the accident, and now Lottie’s discovered he lied to her about what happened that night. Now she must decide if trusting him again will lead to real forgiveness, or deeper heartache.

“How can you not see how delicious he is? I just want to put him on a stick and lick him on a hot summer day,” said Lexie as she watched Zack Parker chucking cans of beer out of a cooler at people, regardless of whether they were ready to catch them or not.

Page 56:

“Books?” She said the word as if she’d never heard of them before. “Don’t you already have a bunch of books?” What kind of a question was that? We were college students. And whoever heard of having too many books?

I have previously read two books by this author and I enjoyed them and this one was a freebie, so of course, I had to get it. It sounds like an interesting story. I’m pretty sure we’ve all gotten that question from the 56 part before, I know I have. There really is no such thing as too many books.

What’s on your reading schedule for this weekend?

I hope you have a nice weekend.

Happy Reading!

  1. I’m laughing at your Page 56 excerpt. My husband and I have a library that’s crammed with books. A visitor to our home once asked, “Have you really read all of those books?!” I was polite and simply answered, “Yes.” He was obviously clueless. Our collection doesn’t include library books, books on my Kindle, and others that we’ve given away.
Based on the excerpts you’ve posted, along with the synopsis, this sounds like a story I’d enjoy.
    My Friday post features HOOT.
