I’m now up to 11 rows of my March block. I got to use a couple new colors in the past week. Peach is the 60’s range and Baby Pink is the 70’s range. Each block is turning out so different than the previous one. I can’t wait to see the whole year together.

Summary via GoodreadsLouisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has never been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex-Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair-bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.

Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.

A love story for this generation, Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?

Beginning:

Chapter 1

There are 158 footsteps between the bus stop and home, but it can stretch to 180 if you aren’t in a hurry, like maybe if you were wearing platform shoes.

Page 56-57:

“Your friends got the shitty treatment. Fine. They probably deserved it. But I’m just here day after day trying to do the best job I can. So I would really appreciate it if you didn’t make my life as unpleasant as you do everyone else’s.”

Will’s eyes widened a little. There was a beat before he spoke again. “And what if I told you I didn’t want you here?”

Thoughts:

I, like many people, recently watched the trailer for the Me Before You movie and totally fell in love, so I knew I had to get my hands on the book. I started it today, so I’m only a few pages in, but I’m already really enjoying it.

What’s on your reading schedule for this weekend?

I hope you have a nice weekend.

Happy Reading!

*What did you recently finish reading?
*What do you think you’ll read next?

 1. What are you currently reading?

– I have a little over 3 hours left of the audio book of A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. I’m really enjoying this book and should finish it later today.

6584000

Willa can’t erase the bad decisions of her past that led her down the path she’s on now. But she can fight for forgiveness from her family. And she can protect herself by refusing to let anyone else get close to her.

High school quarterback and town golden boy Brady used to be the best of friends with Willa—she even had a crush on him when they were kids. But that’s all changed now: her life choices have made her a different person from the girl he used to know.

Gunner used to be friends with Willa and Brady, too. He too is larger than life and a high school football star—not to mention that his family basically owns the town of Lawton. He loves his life, and doesn’t care about anyone except himself. But Willa is the exception—and he understands the girl she’s become in a way no one else can.

As secrets come to light and hearts are broken, these former childhood friends must face the truth about growing up and falling in love…even if it means losing each other forever.

Top Ten Tuesday #51 ~ Characters People Love That I Don’t

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week’s theme:

Top Ten Characters Everyone Loves, But I Don’t

*These are in no particular order.

shadow and bonecity of bones

1-2. Mal + The Darkling from Shadow And Bone by Leigh Bardugo

I’ve only read the first book, so far, so my opinion may change, but as of right now, I’m not a big fan of these two.

3-4. Simon and Isabelle from City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

I don’t know that I have an actual reason for not liking these two, I just don’t.

the lightning thiefA Court Of Thorns and Roses

5. Annabeth from The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

I just never really connected with this character.

6. Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

I haven’t forgiven him for some of the things he did in this book, not sure if that will change in the next book, or not.

the raven boysharry potter and the sorcerer's stone

7. Gansey from The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

I’ve only read the first book, so there is a chance this character will grow on me.

8. Snape from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

Didn’t really like him from the beginning and it never got any better, for me.

13455782

9-10. Adam + Warner from Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Again, I’ve only read the first book, but they both annoyed me for different reasons.

Leave a link to your TTT post and I’ll be sure to stop by.

I’m reading from an omnibus version, so I’m not exactly sure how far into Drums of Autumn I am, but I believe I’m close to halfway. I’m 36% into the audio book of A Darker Shade of Magic and I’m enjoying it. The story just started to get really interesting.
